It’s time to turn our attention to an iconic smartphone: the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.
In the following, I will detail the key hardware specifications of the three S22 models. Experts say, according to Gsmarena , that the overall design is a slight evolution of the current look of the Galaxy S21.
Starting with the size of the display, Samsung is expected to bring us a 6.01-inch Galaxy S22, along with a 6.55-inch Galaxy S22 + and a 6.81-inch Galaxy S22 Ultra. For reference, this year’s Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch display, the S21 + has a diagonal of 6.7 inches, while the screen size of the S21 Ultra is 6.8 inches.
Samsung Galaxy S22 – specifications, battery, camera
All Galaxy S22 series phones are said to have 120Hz refresh rates, although the Ultra model will be the only one with QHD + resolution and a low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) screen that allows you to dynamically change the refresh rate and in turn, improved battery life management.
If these rumors come true, the Galaxy S22 would be the smallest Galaxy S device, from the Galaxy S10e in 2019, and a true Samsung smartphone to compete with the iPhone 12 mini
As for the Galaxy S22 and S22 + camera, it will come with a new 50MP 1 / 1.55 inch main sensor, along with a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. On the other hand, the S22 Ultra is said to have a 108MP main camera, along with three 12MP auxiliary sensors – a short 3x optical zoom telephoto lens, a 10x optical zoom periscope and an ultrawide snapper.
The battery capacity of the S22 and S22 + will be lower compared to their predecessors, at 3,800 mAh and 4,000 mAh, while the S22 Ultra will retain a 5,000 mAh cell. No details on upload speed yet.
Last but not least, it looks like Samsung will stick with Snapdragon 898 chipsets for most of its Galaxy S22 devices due to production issues and low performance of the internal Exynos 2200 SoC.
